Alro Plastics, a shapes distributor and fabricator, has moved into a new 70,000-square-foot facility in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In a news release, Jackson, Mich.-based Alro officials said that the larger building has expanded inventory and processing services. The new site can cut plastic sheet up to 6 inches thick, 14 feet wide and 14 feet long and rod up to 14 inches in diameter.

Other plastics processing services offered in Grand Rapids include extrusion welding, flame polishing, heat bending, gluing and bonding. The facility includes two new Onsrud computer numerically controlled routers for per print machining. Cut-to-size plastics and next-day delivery also are available from Grand Rapids.

Alro is a unit of steel fabricator Alro Steel of Jackson, Mich. Alro Plastics opened in 1987 and now has locations in Chicago; Louisville, Ky.; Clearwater, Fla.; and Madison Heights, Mich.; in addition to Grand Rapids and Jackson. The firm stocks a large inventory of sheet, rod, and tube in standard, engineered, and high-performance materials.
